The piece is built on obsessive repetition and the interlocking of rhythmic loops characterized by a very simple and pared-down harmony. The technique of layering and juxtaposing the various elements — like tiles of a mosaic — creates an inexorable and unpredictable buildup of tension, which resolves only in the final moments of the composition.
The title is taken from a line in Pink Floyd’s iconic song Welcome to the Machine, which inspired the work’s sense of obsessiveness and the alienating use of repetition. The aim is to trap the listener within the piece, allowing a release only in the silence that follows the performance.

Il brano si basa sulla ripetizione ossessiva e sull’incastro di loop ritmici caratterizzati da un’armonia molto semplice e asciutta. La tecnica di accumulazione dei vari elementi — giustapposti e sovrapposti come tessere di un mosaico — genera una tensione inesorabile e imprevedibile, che trova soluzione solo negli ultimi istanti della composizione.
Il titolo è tratto da un verso della celebre canzone dei Pink Floyd Welcome to the Machine, brano che ha ispirato l’ossessività e l’alienazione prodotte dall’uso sistematico della ripetizione. L’intento è quello di intrappolare l’ascoltatore all’interno del pezzo, lasciandogli tirare un sospiro di sollievo soltanto nel silenzio che segue l’esecuzione.
