CONCERTO
FOR CELLO AND ORCHESTRA
The piece is built around two topics: memory and the symbiotic relationship between instrument and instrumentalist. Memory distorts, layers, idealizes, recomposes, compresses or expands time, in an unconscious rewriting process of the music itself. This concert pretends to be a memory of a music that resurfaces in the cellist's fingertips. An ever-changing music that flows thanks to the soloist’s memories, of which the orchestra is an amplification. A music that is a conflict between sound and memory of the sound itself. The soloist embodies the sound, until they and their instrument merge into a single conflicting entity with undefined contours.

PER VIOLONCELLO E ORCHESTRA
Il brano è costruito su due fulcri: la memoria e il rapporto simbiotico tra strumento e strumentista. La memoria stravolge, stratifica, idealizza, ricompone, comprime o espande il tempo, in un processo di inconsapevole riscrittura della musica stessa. Questo concerto finge di essere un ricordo, una musica che riaffiora nelle mani del violoncellista. Una musica cangiante che fluisce grazie ai ricordi generati dal solista, dei quali l’orchestra è un’emanazione. Una musica che è conflitto tra suono e memoria del suono stesso. Il suono è incarnato dal solista. L’interprete e il suo strumento sono fusi in un’unica conflittuale entità dai contorni indefiniti.
